Hi there, how are you doing?
I suspect you have felt that life has been more intense than usual during the month of September. For many of you, with whom I have had the pleasure to work during these last few weeks, we have taken a quick look at your astrological charts to see what has been going on in your lives. If we put our heads in the clouds (or more correctly, if we stick our heads above them so that we can see the sky), it can give us greater clarity and a bird’s-eye view of what we have been through lately.
Twice a year, for about a month each time, we go through a ”deep cleaning” of some sort. Some astrologers call this period a time for major endings and beginnings. We leave behind that which no longer resonates with us and make room for new things that are more in alignment with who we are becoming.

The process of leaving behind is not always easy and can create both tension and conflicting feelings within us. We may need to struggle a little to let go of some of the beliefs, opinions, dreams, relationships, and “stuff” that we have outgrown. And most of us have trouble letting go of that which feels familiar (even if it is uncomfortable). Other parts are easier to release. We look at it and wonder – what on earth is this doing in my life?
Eclipse seasons can be helpful to keep track of
I have written about eclipses and eclipse seasons several times before, because I find it to be a very interesting time to journey through. It is a recurring event that brings valuable insights and understanding each time, if we can concentrate on what is actually happening (rather than spending our energy worrying about what is going on). For this eclipse season, I decided to reach out after we had passed through it. What I hope is to inspire and remind you to take a look in the rear mirror and notice what you have travelled through—and how far you have come in just a few short weeks.
Revisit your journal or calendar and check how September unfolded for you. What have you been up to? Who have you interacted with, and how did that go? Have you made any significant changes or decisions during this time? The dates for the actual eclipses were September 7th for the lunar eclipse and September 21st for the Solar eclipse.
September 7th

On September 7th we experienced the lunar eclipse (15 degrees Pisces, for those who are a little deeper into astrology, and if you are familiar with your charts, check in which house/s you have Pisces).
You might have felt “the pressure building up” in the weeks before. The astrological Moon is closely tied to our emotions, sense of well-being, and feelings of safety. The moon also shows us how we feel nurtured and the way we care for and nurture others. The moon is also connected to our intuition and healing abilities.
September 21st

On this day, the moon passed between the sun and the Earth, and the moon partly covered our glowing star (at 29 degrees Virgo – same thing here for the astrologically interested – in which house/s do you have Virgo in your birth chart?). The astrological Sun is connected to a lot of things, but our Sense of Self is one of the most important. The Sun is the centre of the Zodiac, as we are in the centre of our own lives.
During the two weeks between every lunar eclipse and solar eclipse, our awareness is heightened, our emotions are more on the surface, and what used to feel clear and relatively stable may suddenly feel muddy and may shift in an instant. Alternatively, it can be slow process, where we become increasingly uncomfortable with a particular pattern, situation, relationship or thing. It is a transformational time; it is as if we are tumbling around in a giant washing machine, when it is difficult to know what is at the head or tail of things around us.
Two weeks of transformation

Our sense of self can be a bit blurry, and we are not alone in this. Everyone else has their emotions on their sleeve, too. Others’ opinions about and behaviour toward us may change, and ours towards them (that’s why it can be a bit messy).
This in-between time can feel uncomfortable, but if we listen within and observe our interactions with the environment, we can gain great clarity and insight. Sometimes we can even be surprised by the intensity of our feelings of being complete and done with certain things. We discover that we long for change, and the release becomes really easy. Whether we feel resistance towards letting go or a longing for change, the trick is not to get too entangled in our emotions and fears due to the unusual instability in our lives. It becomes an easier transition if we focus on what is really going on “topic by topic”. Here, I have found astrology to be a great help in calming us down. As I have already mentioned, by looking at where the eclipses occur in our birth chart, we can get a hint of which life area is particularly asking to be transformed.
If we have planets in the “eclipse signs” in our birth chart, it can provide us with further information about the nature of the “deep cleaning” we are undergoing.
Out in the sunlight again
As we step out on the other side of the solar eclipse, we may feel a bit wobbly and worn out, and slightly foreign to ourselves. Some of the shifts and changes within us are apparent and tangible. Others are more elusive and harder to put our finger on. And this is the work we have in front of us now: To figure out what has shifted within us. What transformational processes have begun?

What we have let go of and left behind (willingly or with resistance), has left a space, a void, that we can fill with new potential experiences. In this open space, we can plant seeds of our becoming. When we have given ourselves a moment to catch our breath, it is a good time to ask ourselves some questions:

What have I let go of?
What has changed in me?
What do I want to bring into my life? (What would bring me joy?)
In what direction do I want to go now?
When we are out on the other side of the eclipse season, it is time to do a bit of “gardening”. Plant those seeds in the newly prepared and ploughed soil. Good luck with both the investigation of your new YOU, and finding the most joyful seeds to plant in the open spaces.
The aftermath of an eclipse season
And the changes? For how long will they go on? It is hard to say – they are complete when they are complete. With the endings, that which is fading out of our lives, we may need time to accept, sometimes grieve, and process until we are on stable ground within.

As for the beginnings, the new seeds we plant will sprout and grow into delicate seedlings, in need of our care and love to develop into beautiful and flourishing creations.
I am sorry, I cannot be of more help here… you are in charge 😉
Again and again and again and again and again…
And in February 2026, we will go through a similar (but different) experience again. And we will continue to undergo this energetic update every six months or so, as long as the Sun and the Moon remain in this harmonious relationship with each other. We will feel the pressure building up within us as we approach a new eclipse season. We will be assisted in “cleaning up” a part of our life, including our sense of self and emotional makeup, each time.
I took a little sneak peek at the one eclipse season waiting for us in February 2026, and it looks pretty interesting. So, more about eclipses on the other side of the new year. Now, though, it is time for a bit of music!!!

I love the Eurovision Song Contest! Through this annual European (and beyond) music event, I have found so many interesting singers and musicians that probably wouldn’t have come my way otherwise.
This time, we will travel to Estonia to meet with ALIKA, and she has an absolutely AWESOME voice!!! The song I have chosen is Estonia’s entry “Bridges” from the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. It was co-written with Wouter Hardy. I hope you will find it as timely as I do, as we are stepping onto somewhat more stable ground within. I will add it to my blog music list on Spotify (search for Magic Mittens’ magic playlist).
That was it for today!
Lots of love,
Carin
PS. This blog post is actually a piece of homework that I have now completed. A few weeks ago, I had a very special conversation with Nicola McDonald, an author and writing coach. What I thought would be an interview for her newsletter – a discussion about communicating in a foreign language – transformed into a healing session (which generated homework!!!) It was an extraordinary experience, and I will share more about it with you at another time.
Bye for now ♥
