So who am I?
My name is Carin Eklund and I started my business in 2007. I offer sessions where I weave together energetic medicine and coaching. Both what we vaguely call healing and coaching are beautiful tools in their own right, but by experience, I have found combining the two is the most efficient and beneficial.
As long as I can remember I have been passionately interested in the connection between body, mind and soul. Without being able to explain what it was, I knew from a very young age that I had something special in my hands that made people feel better when I touched them. I also realised I knew a lot of things about people that they had never told me. As many of us do as we grow up, I shut down these abilities and tried to live a “normal life”, but my intuitive gifts continued to tap me on the shoulder until I reluctantly agreed to listen.
Learning backwards
To get a better understanding of what was happening to me I had to search for knowledge that could explain all the odd experiences in my life.
The way I got my certificate in acupressure is a typical example of that. Subtly at first, I began to feel lines in my body, and certain areas were vibrating. At first, I thought it was the blood vessels, and I feared I was suffering from some strange disease; then I thought it was the tendons. When these sensations happened so frequently that I needed to do something about it, I started to study acupressure and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), and I suddenly understood the reason behind all these strange sensations. It was like being given a dictionary to a foreign language I heard every day but never had understood.
Discipline after discipline opened its door to me and pushed me through.
I am initiated in Reiki and a few different South American shamanic traditions. I have studied conventional medicine. Qi Gong and Nei Gong are wonderful parts of Asian medical and spiritual traditions, and I have trained for several different teachers. I have also had the opportunity to scratch the surface and marvel at the Classical Chinese Arts. I have taken deep dives into coaching and NLP and consumed vast amounts of literature on psychology, religion, and philosophy.
The latest tool I have put in my tool is a very interesting one – The Soul Integration Facilitation. I am certified by Theo Gruop Inc. For a number of years, I have worked with this process with fantastic results.
Theory and practice
I have travelled to many different corners of the globe and met many teachers, many of whom belong to different indigenous tribes. I have learnt about their views on healing and personal growth.
Over and over again, I have seen the extraordinary complexity of human nature. We truly are a combination of our different levels; our physicality, our intellect, our emotions and our spirit. I marvel at how these different levels interact with each other in a much more intimate way than we might think. It almost seems like a cliché to say that we need to see the human being as a combination of these different systems, but I find it to be the starting point when trying to understand the root of a symptom or a limiting belief. They all need to be considered to obtain lasting healing.
My modus operandi
The way I work has shifted over the years. I began by treating the physical body by working on specific acupressure points or hands-on healing, and along the way, the focus moved to the energetic body, finally becoming independent of physical distance.
This means that it doesn’t matter if you are on the other side of the globe or sitting in my office, the effects are the same.
Why a blog?
My sporadic writing here at Magic Mittens’ blog aims to share what is happening in my business and what assistance I can offer those interested in personal growth.
It is a place where I share what has worked for me and the questions I have been asking myself (and have found answers to now and then 🙂 ). It is also an outlet for my words and my whimsical illustrations.
Life is a miracle in and of itself, even though we sometimes forget it. Therefore, this blog is a reminder (for both of us) to look for the magic and beauty and to remember that we have been given a precious gift just by being alive.
Along the journey, we attract all kinds of experiences, some filled with joy and happiness and others upsetting or sad. Whatever we encounter on our path transforms us in small or large ways, and I am convinced that with the right mindset, all our experiences will eventually bring a gift that enriches us. If we remember to look for the magical, the amazing, the fantastic in life, it is easier to see these gifts and the surprises Life has up its sleeve.

As those of you who have followed me for a while know, I will not flood your inbox. Despite my best intentions, I have never managed to schedule my writing, so you will only hear from me when I have something to share. However, I would love to walk alongside you for a little while. I hope what I share will inspire you to believe in yourself, and if I even manage to make you giggle – that will be the cherry on top!
